Ethan Gach, a gaming reporter from Kotaku, received a report that the Pieces Interactive development team had laid off employees following the release of Alone in the Dark Remake on March 20.

It’s unclear what percentage of employees will be laid off, but as Pieces Interactive is owned by Embracer Group A giant gaming company recently shut down, sold off, and laid off several game studios. Therefore, it is possible that an order to lay off employees has been issued. In order to save on company expenses

Additionally, the response to Alone in the Dark Remake has been quiet, which will likely affect sales of the game. It might also be one of the major reasons for employee layoffs at Pieces Interactive.

Pieces Interactive has not released a confirming statement regarding the layoffs as of yet.
