Meta has announced the launch of Horizon OS, Meta Quest’s operating system, for other 3rd party brands to use. And now Asus, Lenovo and XBOX (Microsoft) have begun to join the project.
Asus will produce under the ROG brand that focuses on entertainment and gaming equipment, while Lenovo will focus on creativity and work.
Meta also teases that these devices will use the same Qualcomm chipset as the Quest 3, and there will also be a “special edition XBOX-inspired Meta Quest” developed by Meta and the XBOX team.
Meta Horizon OS is the result of Meta’s 10 years of work creating a standalone VR/AR platform based on Android. Both features are seen from the inside to the outside. and to provide a more natural interaction system Including developing eye, face, hand, and body tracking for VR.
Meta is also renaming the Meta Quest Store to Meta Horizon Store and the Meta Quest Companion app will also be changed to Meta Horizon.
