The creation of the 6G logo comes four months after the announcement of a partnership between Japan’s ARIB, North America’s ATIS, China’s CCSA, Europe’s ETSI and other organizations to begin detailed 6G technology planning, which could take years to develop. 3GPP will next announce a roadmap for industry to develop products and services based on 6G technology before they are ready for actual use in the 2030s.
3GPP said the logo will reflect 3GPP’s work on 6G standards and will be unveiled for the first time next month at the SAI Stage-1 Workshop on IMT2030 use cases being held in the city. Rotterdam (Rotterdam) from 8 – 10 May 2024
