Galaxy Z Flip6 has been tested in Benchmark. It is confirmed to have a 12GB RAM model but uses an SD 8 Gen 2 chip?

--

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6 and Z Fold6 are close to being officially launched in the next few months. Both models are expected to use Snapdragon chips, but it looks like there will be models that use older chips like Snapdragon 8 Gen. 2, sir.

A few days ago, a US model of the Z Flip6 (SM-F741U) was tested on Geekbench with the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip (codenamed Pineapple) and had 8GB of RAM, but a recent test on the same model found it to be underpowered. With an old chip like 8 Gen 2 (codenamed Kalama) with 12GB of RAM and running on Android 14

The score achieved in this round is Single Core at 1,794 and Multi Core at 4,486.

The use of older chips is likely quite confusing because Samsung’s flagship models usually only use the latest chipsets of each year.

Finally, we have to see if the Z Flip6 will have two versions, 8 Gen 3 and 8 Gen 2, in order to have a cheaper model than before. Alternatively, it is possible that the model number of the Galaxy S23 Ultra has been changed to be seen as the Z Flip6.
