Issara News Agency (www.isranews.org) reports that recently the website of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) has published an update on the results of the allegation case. Mr. Chalermphon Jesadang Kul Na Ayutthaya or Phasuk when he held the position of Mayor of Lat Sawai City, Lam Luk Ka District, Pathum Thani Province, with his group, namely Mrs. Panida Panpayom, Mr. Sap Anan. Hirunsuwankit, Mr. Saran Sri-amorn and M.M.T. Company. Machinery Co., Ltd. is dishonest in hiring a contractor to transport solid waste from Lat Sawai Municipality. which was voted by the NACC to be a criminal offence. According to the Criminal Code, Sections 151, 157 and 162 (1), (4), Section 86 of the National Anti-Corruption Commission Act of 2018, Section 172 of the Act on offenses related to Bid for price to government agencies, B.E. 2542 (Hua Act), Sections 4, 7 and 12 since March 4, 2021.

Latest developments: On 15 November 2023, the Criminal Court for Corruption and Misconduct Cases Region 1 issued the verdict as follows:

1. Mr. Chalermphon Jesadangkul Na Ayutthaya or Phasuk, defendant no. 1, and Mrs. Panida Panpayom, defendant no. 2, are guilty under the law. Imprisonment for each person is 5 years.

2. Mr. Saran Sri-amorn, defendant no. 4, and M.M.T. Company. Machinery Co., Ltd., the 5th defendant, is guilty under the law. The 4th defendant was sentenced to 3 years and 4 months in prison and the 5th defendant was fined 80,000 baht.

3. dismiss Mr. Sapanan Hirunsuwankit, Defendant No. 3

However, this case is not over yet. All defendants have the right to fight the case to prove their innocence in a higher court.

Initially, the NACC held a meeting to pass a resolution on January 30, 2024. It considered and resolved that there should be a letter requesting assistance from the Attorney General (ASO) to consider appealing the said judgment.
