Dr. Prateep Wongbundit, Deputy Governor for Research and Development in Sustainable Development Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research (TISTR) joins in welcoming speakers and participants in the workshop on Sustainable municipal solid waste management under the concept of circular economy (Workshop on Sustainable Municipal Solid Waste Management within the Circular Economy Concept). On this occasion, Dr. Chanpen Mekhapirak, Inspector General of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, and Dr. Preeti Soni, Head of the APCTT honored us as chairman to give the opening speech and welcome representatives from various agencies both domestically and abroad.

In this activity, TISTR collaborated with the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Defense, and the Asian and Pacific Center for Transfer of Technology (APCTT), an agency under the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific. (Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific: ESCAP) was held between 25-26 April 2024 at Ballroom C, Maruay Garden Hotel, Bangkok, with the objective of transferring technology in waste management. Strengthen the scientific, technological, and innovative capabilities of APCTT group members and create a collaborative network for sustainable community waste management. On this occasion, Dr. Rewadee Anuwattana, research expert, TISTR, International Affairs Division and research team Center of Expertise in Robotic Innovation and Automated Machinery and the Center for Expertise in Clean Energy and Environmental Innovation, TISTR, also attended as an honor (25 Apr. 2024)

For meeting content framework It consists of 1) development of waste regulations and circular economy in Thailand 2) case study of municipal solid waste management according to circular economy principles 3) product standards and circular economy management in Thailand 4) management of remaining landfill waste. Center 5) Thailand’s plan for plastic waste management 6) Urban mining business and recycling 7) Private sector participation in the community (Successful cases of Wang Wa and Ban Chang solid waste management), 8) Marine plastic waste management by local communities, and 9) Sharing ideas and suggestions.
