It is in the process of requesting a budget allocation for 2025 of more than 5,645 million baht, which will support growth and promote economic sustainability, investment, and tourism.

Mrs. Monphon further said that Mr. Settha Thavisin, the Prime Minister and the government Has given great importance to the development of infrastructure to support sustainable growth, especially the 4 northeastern provinces that have areas adjacent to the Lao PDR and the Friendship Bridge connecting 2 places at Nakhon Phanom and Bueng Kan. The Ministry of Transport therefore hastened the development of a transportation network connecting 4 provinces, including transportation within the country and Lao PDR – Vietnam – China.

There are large projects in the area that are currently in progress, including the double track railway project, route Ban Phai – Mukdahan – Nakhon Phanom, budget 66,785.53 million baht, construction project of Highway 2032, budget 979.4 million baht, 4-lane road construction project, Highway 212, budget 669.4 million. baht and the 5th Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge Project, Bueng Kan Province (Bueng Kan – Paksan), budget 3,906 million baht, expected to be completed in November.

For fiscal year 2024, the Ministry of Transport has allocated a budget for developing transportation infrastructure in the amount of 1,605 million baht, including the road expansion project of Highway 212, Pak Khat District – Hor Kham section, to 4 traffic lanes, the road expansion project of Highway 22, Sung Noen – Tha section. Minerals from 4 traffic lanes to 8 traffic lanes and the road construction project along the Mekong River Nakawithi Thai – Lao Friendship Bridge section (2nd location) – Phra That Phanom and is in the process of requesting a budget for 2025.

and many future projects such as expanding the highway to 4 traffic lanes on Highway 222, Wanon Niwat District – Kham Ta Kla District, Highway 22, Na Kae District – Ban Tong, Highway 212 Bueng Khong Long – Ban Phae District, including to the Nakawithi Road Along the Mekong River Project, Phase 2 and the No. 2010 road construction project, including the development and expansion of the capacity of regional airports to support the growth of air transport in the area, etc.

Mrs. Monphon further said that pushing various projects of the government and the Ministry of Transport to the areas of Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Mukdahan and Bueng Kan will be of great benefit to the people in having access to transportation that is convenient, safe and environmentally friendly. It will help connect economic development, trade, investment, increase opportunities for economic and commercial growth and development of countries in the region, and promote trade, employment, investment, and tourism in the Northeast. It will also facilitate Thailand being a center for connecting sub-regions. The Mekong River and Southeast Asia join China and South Asia.
