Rayong – The president of Rayong Provincial Administrative Organization asks the government to support the construction of more waste-to-energy power plants. After the amount of garbage in the area keeps increasing, there are fears that the Aviation City project – U-Tapao Airport will receive tourists, causing garbage to overflow in the city. Currently, there are as many as 1,000 tons per day. In contrast, the potential for disposal is only 500 tons, confirming that the bad smell problem is not complacent.
Today (21 Nov.) Mr. Piya Pitutecha, President of the Rayong Provincial Administrative Organization. Chaired a meeting of the tripartite committee to solve the problem of waste odor from the Integrated Waste Disposal Center in Rayong Province, which is under the supervision of the Rayong Provincial Administrative Organization to discuss solutions to the latter problem. Received complaints from a wide range of citizens.
There is a tripartite committee consisting of community leaders, people in 4 subdistricts consisting of Mapkha Subdistrict, Nikhom Phatthana District, Thap Ma Subdistrict – Nam Khok Subdistrict, Mueang Rayong District, Nong Taphan Subdistrict, Ban Khai District, and the network sector. Volunteers for the protection of natural resources and the village environment (THS) in Rayong Province joined at the meeting room of the Rayong Provincial Integrated Waste Disposal Center, Thap Ma Subdistrict, Mueang Rayong District.
Mr. Piya revealed that after listening to the feedback from the villagers, Rayong Provincial Administrative Organization is not complacent and has hastened to take corrective action in every way. Including spraying EM water to reduce bad smells, using covers to cover garbage piles. , Adjust the time period for using garbage shoveling machinery. and pumping wastewater from landfills into treatment ponds Including separating garbage in order to go into landfill as little as possible Because at present the landfill is full.
He also ordered officials to check the wind direction. Because when entering winter, it causes problems with the wind changing direction. This is so that the villagers are least affected by the smell.
“I would like to confirm that Rayong Provincial Administrative Organization is fully sincere in solving the problem. And I’ve done my best. But due to the current amount of waste coming into the waste disposal center There is up to 1,000 tons per day, but only 500 tons per day can be brought into the waste power plant. The Rayong Provincial Administrative Organization has therefore proposed a request for a budget to set up another waste power plant, and if it is approved by the central government, it is believed that It will be able to solve the problem of overflowing garbage at this waste disposal center very well. Because of the new waste-to-energy power plant No need to sort Therefore, we believe that the odor problem can be solved in another way as well.”
Mr. Piya further revealed that at present this idea has not received support from relevant agencies. Therefore, I would like to appeal to all sectors to help push forward because if Rayong Province does not have an additional waste power plant, it is believed that in the near future this waste disposal center will definitely have more waste than its ability to handle.
Due to the emergence of the aviation city project and the commercial opening of U-Tapao Airport to accommodate the increasing number of flights and tourists. It will definitely have an effect on the amount of garbage in Rayong Province, which will definitely increase as well.
